Okay so I know it’s been a LOOOONG time since I posted anything…really the end of the whole election cycle, plus things going on in my personal and professional life (or lack thereof) took their toll. But today’s news has given me new life and new energy!!!
So, bowing to White House demands, the chairman of GM has resigned. I absolutely applaud it. My only problem is that it doesn’t go far enough. I have nothing against Rick Wagoner, or Edward Liddy, or any of the other CEO’s of these giant corporations receiving federal dollars…except for the fact that they’re greedy, arrogant, selfish mercinaries who don’t deserve a dime of MY money. I think the CEO’s and boards of directors of EVERY company that received federal dollars should be put out. It’s obvious that nobody at these companies has the best interest of their shareholders or the American people at heart, so get rid of em!
But you might say, wait, qball, who’s gonna run these companies? I’ll tell you: OUTSOURCE!!! For two years, I was a clerical grunt in a large Japanese tractor company located in Southern California. And in that two years I saw alot of VP’s and Directors and upper managers who were at the very least incompetent, if not arrogant, selfish and shady. I also so a large number of motivated professionals, efficient, hardworking, loyal to the company and determined to create a better product. The former all had one thing in common: they were old, white American men. The latter also had one thing in common: they were all foreigners, especially Japanese. I’m tired of these CEO’s outsourcing OUR jobs, manufacturing, telecommunications, all the jobs for the hardworking everyday American, jobs we can do well and compete with anyone in the world with our efficiency and quality. Let’s outsource THEIR jobs. I say fire ‘em all! Fire all the CEO’s, CFO’s and boards of directors of every corporation that received federal bailout money, and replace those positions with foreign talent, from Japan, China, India and Europe! Let’s let TRUE professionals take the reigns of these companies, while normal, hardworking, honest Americans fill the rest of the positions. Let’s break the monopoly that Harvard Business MBA’s have on the CEO spots! Let’s go find some people who got their degrees at University of Phoenix and Strayer and Cal State Long Beach! We can preserve capitalism and still give the power over the economy to the average joe if we do one simple thing: give people jobs based on proven ability and tested moral character, not based on their degree, not based on their fraternity, not based on their membership in a country club. And maybe we can get our economy back!!
